About Metagenics

For over 43 years, Metagenics has had the mission to help people live happier, healthier lives through the life-changing power of nutrition.

We believe the way we do business is as important as the business we do; that a company in the nourishment business should nourish its people, too. So, we incorporated healthy, sustainable care into every dimension of our culture. Our diverse and expansive team are a prime example of the power of a people-first approach. We know first-hand, when an organization prioritizes internal growth and fosters empathy, its people come together to set an example of what the world can become.

Join us in being the world’s leading healthcare professional-grade VMS company!

The Role

Metagenics is investing meaningfully in the modernization and convergence of its global technology stack. Over the next several years we will unify our enterprise systems, modernize our commerce and integration architecture, scale a portfolio of production AI programs, and evolve toward a Centers of Excellence operating

model.

To do this well, we need a Principal Solution Architect who can hold the whole picture — the systems, the data, the integrations, the security posture, the operational readiness — and set the technical direction that our teams and delivery partners execute against.

This is a highly visible role, working directly with the CTO, technology leadership, and executive stakeholders across the business. You will become the enterprise’s technical center of gravity.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy and Standards

  • Own the enterprise reference architecture across ERP, ecommerce, data, integration, and AI layers
  • Set architectural patterns, standards, and technology selection criteria that every technology function executes against
  • Chair the Architecture Review Board and sign off on architecturally significant decisions

Cross-functional Technical Direction

  • Serve as the peer-level technical advisor to each area leader across ERP, Ecommerce, Data & AI, Security, and IT Operations
  • Ensure major transformation programs share consistent integration, data, identity, and observability patterns
  • Prevent point solutions from calcifying into new legacy

Enterprise Transformation Architecture

  • Own the target-state architecture for our global ERP consolidation onto a single modern platform
  • Own the target-state architecture for our global ecommerce convergence — including B2C, B2B / practitioner, subscriptions, payments, tax, and fulfillment
  • Own the platform architecture for our generative AI programs — including LLM routing, retrieval patterns, data pipelines, guardrails, and observability

Middleware and Integration

  • Rearchitect middleware and integrations across disparate enterprise systems — evolve a large point-to-point integration estate into a governed, event-driven architecture
  • Set the strategic direction for the enterprise integration platform, ensuring it simplifies as major systems converge
  • Establish clean separation of concerns — no business logic living in middleware where it doesn’t belong

Data

  • Define the enterprise data architecture — master data, event streams, warehousing, and downstream consumption for BI, AI, and operational reporting
  • Establish clean ownership between the transactional stack and the analytical / AI stack

Security, Compliance, and Resilience

  • Partner with the Head of Security on architecture-level controls — identity, access, data classification, encryption, network segmentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regimes including NIS2, FSSC 22000, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and regional privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
  • Design for resilience — RTO/RPO targets, disaster recovery patterns, and business continuity

What You'll Need

Experience / Training / Education

  • 15+ years in enterprise technology, with at least 5 years as a senior or principal-level architect at a global company
  • Direct hands-on architectural experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations and/or Customer Engagement) at scale — including multi-country / multi-legal-entity deployments
  • Direct experience architecting modern ecommerce platforms — Shopify strongly preferred; comparable modern commerce platforms also considered
  • Deep understanding of integration architecture — iPaaS platforms, event-driven patterns, API-first design
  • Experience architecting modern data platforms — Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable
  • Working knowledge of generative AI architecture — RAG, agent patterns, LLM routing, evals, and guardrails

Preferred Experience

  • Consumer goods, life sciences, or regulated food / manufacturing industry background
  • Direct experience with NIS2, FSSC 22000, ISO 27001, SOC 2 compliance regimes
  • Experience with practitioner or healthcare-professional channels and the pricing, payment, and rebate models that come with them
  • Prior experience standing up or scaling a Center of Excellence operating model

You'll love this job if you're:

  • A systems thinker — able to hold the whole picture without losing sight of the seams
  • Decisive and pragmatic — comfortable making calls with incomplete data and revisiting them cleanly when evidence changes
  • Comfortable influencing at the executive level — you can carry a technical argument into a senior leadership or board conversation without losing the audience
  • A builder, not just a governor — you ship reference implementations, not just publish diagrams
  • A coach and multiplier — you make the architects and engineers around you better
