The Role

In this role, you will lead continuous improvement projects within the Supply Chain and Operations departments while collaborating with key stakeholders in Product Development, Quality Control, and Supply Chain. Reporting to the Director of NAM Manufacturing, you will identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness. Additionally, you will train and mentor employees in continuous improvement methodologies, fostering a culture of efficiency and innovation. A key aspect of this role is guiding change management through clear communication and strategic execution, ensuring smooth adoption of new methodologies across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance existing processes and methodologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and analyze data, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Design and implement process control systems to ensure consistency and reliability in manufacturing operations.
  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Conduct process audits and reviews to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies and methodologies to optimize processes and enhance product performance.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions within the Manufacturing departments.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and source new equipment and materials for process improvements and cost reduction.
  • Provide timely updates and reports on project progress and process changes.
  • Prioritize deliverables to keep projects on track and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Organize and facilitate project status meetings, including agenda creation, meeting minutes, timeline reviews, and action item assignments.
  • Monitor and control newly implemented processes to ensure sustained improvements.
  • Develop and lead training programs related to projects and process enhancements.
  • Assist or manage global improvement projects as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a Continuous Improvement (CI) Roadmap for all projects.
  • Foster a positive continuous improvement environment by encouraging collaboration, innovation, and teamwork among all co-workers.
  • Assist/Project Manage the design phase on new Fermentation Plant, develop SOPs and process flows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

Experience / Training / Education

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing process engineering or a closely related field, with demonstrated success in driving process improvements and collaborating across cross-functional teams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and execute initiatives.
  • Effective presentation and leadership skills to drive engagement and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in document control and maintaining process documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, LIMS and Microsoft D365.
  • A college degree or relevant work experience is required.
  • LEAN Black Belt Certification is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles and methodologies.
  • Six Sigma tools and process improvement strategies.

Knowledge of:

  • Fermentation Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Liquid Bottle Filling experience is a plus
  • Production scheduling experience is a plus.
  • Change management techniques to drive adoption and efficiency.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to define issues, collect data, and establish actionable conclusions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of personality types.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex tasks and provide appropriate follow-up.

  • Commitment to completing other duties as assigned to support team and business goals.

Compensation

 

The current base salary range for this in-office role (5 days a week) based in Gig Harbor, WA is $100,000/yr. to $125,000/yr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
