The Role

The Senior Financial Data Analyst plays a critical role within the Global FP&A organization, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of financial data across multiple systems and regions.  This position is responsible for data integrity, system validation, master data controls, and continuous process improvement to support timely and reliable financial planning, reporting, and analytics.

 

As the data steward for FP&A, this individual will partner closely with regional finance teams, BI, IT, and Accounting to standardize and enforce global data definitions, streamline reporting processes, and maintain controls that underpin accurate decision-making across the enterprise.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, document, and enforce global FP&A data standards (e.g., chart of accounts, cost centers, HC classifications, product codes, and channel definitions).
  • Ensure consistent application of financial business rules across all planning cycles (AOP, LE, LRP).
  • Maintain governance over new data elements (SKUs, channels, cost center structures).
  • Lead systematic data checks between core systems (ERP, HRIS, BI, GPD, PBI) and FP&A models.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of key data sets such as headcount, trial balances, and revenue mapping.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies proactively with regional and global teams.

Systems & Process Integrity

  • Own master data change controls and partner with IT/BI to maintain accurate system logic.
  • Monitor financial data flows to ensure accurate and timely updates into reporting models.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual inputs and strengthen controls.

Controls & Compliance

  • Establish, document, and maintain audit trails and SOPs for data adjustments and reconciliations.
  • Implement global control mechanisms to ensure completeness and accuracy of all FP&A submissions.
  • Support internal and external audit processes with validated financial data assurance.
  • Continuous Improvement & BI Partnership
  • Collaborate with BI to streamline data integrations, reporting structures, and dashboards.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements that increase efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Benchmark best practices for financial data governance and apply continuous improvement mindset.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partner with Commercial Finance, Sales Ops, and Marketing to align financial, pricing, and market data definitions.
  • Support global projects to harmonize and standardize financial reporting structures across all regions.

Basic Requirements

 

Experience / Training / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, data governance, or financial systems management within a global or multinational organization.
  • Strong background in ERP and BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics D365, Power BI, or Tableau).

Knowledge of

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Dynamics D365 experience a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence software

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of financial data structures (COA, cost centers, hierarchies, P&L mappings).
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills; proficiency with large data sets and system integrations.
  • High attention to detail with ability to identify, analyze, and resolve data anomalies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to translate technical findings for business audiences.
  • Experience managing change control, validations, and data integrity processes.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional discussions on data standards and quality

Compensation

 

The current range for this role based out of Aliso Viejo, CA is $92,988/yr. to $106,153/yr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

A minimum of three workdays per week are to be conducted at the Aliso Viejo office (25 Enterprise, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656).
