The Role

 

The Sr. Financial Analyst will play a key role in identifying and reviewing cost savings proposals. This includes developing, benchmarking and implementing best-in-class processes to support product introduction and change. Additionally, the role will be responsible for all aspects of standard cost accounting. This includes providing support in all related transaction accounting for inventory, monthly measurement and explanation of all inventory variances, including COGS, PPV, waste, yield loss and all other related variances; participate in the monthly financial close; understand and improve the efficiency of the Company’s standard costing system; develop appropriate internal controls to assure a high degree of inventory accuracy and transactional integrity; and work with external auditors.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support internal reporting and analysis efforts by preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to management to facilitate decision-making
  • Perform financial accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes
  • Work with Global Finance teams to improve costing, forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Ensure that new product development will include accurate cost data by updating and improving cost models
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to analyze job costs and profitability
  • Support operations management with regular metric reporting, including analysis of labor and overhead rates, purchase price variances, production efficiency and capitalized variances to drive operational performance
  • Responsible for ensuring that all inventory accounts are properly evaluated
  • Review the bill of materials, routes and standard costs of newly introduced products
  • Develop a complete understanding of the Company’s standard costing system
  • Update inventory standards annually and conduct periodic standard cost updates for new items
  • Ensure internal controls around costing and inventory are functioning and updated where needed
  • Advise the inventory manager on transactions relating to inventory disposition
  • Ensure process is followed that will result in improved pricing transactional integrity
  • Be the key contact on all inventory matters that arise during the annual audit
  • Draft the inventory footnote disclosure for the financial statements.
  • Monitor inventory movements to the warehouses and confirm all inter-company inventory transactions have been properly accounted for
  • Report on warehouse and shipping costs by customer channel
  • Analyze shipping cost trends to improve forecasting

Basic Requirements

Experience / Training / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, variance analysis, and standard setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools. ERP systems experience required, MS D365 is a plus
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, and ensures data integrity and accuracy
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Exposure to intercompany and contract manufacturing relationships

Compensation

 

The current range for this role based out of Gig Harbor, WA is $87,654/yr. to $100,204/yr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
