The Role

 

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FinOps) Specialist plays a key role in implementing, managing, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) solutions. This role focuses on optimizing the organization's financial and operational systems to improve processes, enhance reporting, and drive efficiencies as a partner to the Finance organization. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in Microsoft D365 F&O, with hands-on experience in system configuration, customization, deployment, and user support.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

System Implementation and Support:

  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Microsoft D365 F&O solutions tailored to the organization’s needs.
  • Provide technical and functional support for all finance and operations modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, project management, and supply chain management.
  • Support upgrades, patches, and system updates as part of Metagenics application lifecycle management processes to ensure stable and secure operations.

Process Optimization and Enhancement:

  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements leveraging D365 F&O functionalities.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and other business units to understand their needs and translate them into effective system solutions.
  • Ensure all enhancements are aligned with industry best practices and organizational goals.

Customization and Integration:

  • Develop, test, and implement configurations to extend D365 F&O functionalities based on organizational needs.
  • Design, test and implement customizations to extend D365 F&O functionalities based on organizational needs.
  • Integrate D365 F&O with other internal and third-party systems for seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Work with external vendors and partners on system integrations and custom development projects.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee data migration and enrichment, validation, and transformation processes during new system rollouts or supporting project deliverables.
  • Gather requirements and design customized reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions using D365 F&O reporting tools.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and accuracy in all financial and operational reports.

Training and User Support:

  • Conduct training sessions for end users on D365 F&O modules, providing necessary documentation and materials.
  • Troubleshoot user issues, addressing functional and technical challenges quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Develop user guides and best practice manuals for D365 F&O system usage.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • o Ensure that financial and operational processes within D365 F&O comply with local and international regulatory standards.
  • o Monitor and enforce role-based security and access controls within the system to safeguard sensitive information.

Project Management:

  • Lead or participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Act as a liaison between the technical team and business users to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Requirements

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications in Finance, Operations, or relevant modules are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or AX (Finance and Operations) implementation and support.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, supply chain, and project management functionalities within D365 F&O.
  • Proven track record of successful ERP implementations, upgrades, and customizations.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Azure, and other Microsoft tools is a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in configuring, customizing, and troubleshooting D365 F&O modules.
  • Proficient in data migration, integration, and reporting (SSRS, Power BI, and other tools).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with different business units.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience with global/multi-location D365 F&O implementations.
  • Familiarity with related technologies like Azure DevOps, SQL, and SharePoint.

Compensation

 

The current range for this role based out of Aliso Viejo, CA is $150,000/yr. to $165,000/yr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

A minimum of three workdays per week are to be conducted at the Aliso Viejo office (25 Enterprise Ste 200, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656).
