The Role

 

This job is responsible for assigning personnel to associated job functions and directing shop orders through the packaging department.  This position is also responsible for insuring that all personnel within the department follow established Safety Policies, GMPs, and SOPs at all times.

 

Condition of employment requires knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as applicable to the position.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that each employee is operating equipment safely and are proactive with their own safety
  • Ensure that department staff follow GMPs and SOPs
  • Receive and direct shop orders through department as scheduled
  • Assign department personnel to specific tasks
  • Coordinate timetables with shift supervisor and production personnel
  • Record daily activity in shift lead log book
  • Perform routine spot checks on work in process
  • Teach, coach, and give corrective action to department staff
  • Inspect and validate completed jobs for accuracy
  • Record packing supplies used on production masters
  • Reconcile production masters upon completion of packaging process
  • Equipment use: Powder filling equipment, various packaging line equipment, pallet jacks, lift equipment, labeling equipment, & inspection tables

 Basic Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years similar experience
  • Basic manufacturing knowledge
  • General knowledge of production procedures
  • Familiar with writing, revising, and implementing SOPs
  • Basic clerical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong leadership & organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multi-tasked environment
  • Able to safely operate manufacturing equipment

 

Physical requirements/working conditions:

  • Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
  • Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
  • May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
  • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
  • Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
  • Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; lifts 25 pounds occasionally
  • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments

 

Compensation:

 

The current range for this role based out of Gig Harbor, WA is $23/hr - $25/hr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
