The Role

The role of the Accounts Receivable Specialist is to identify, record, and report the transactional business of the Company. The primary responsibilities include assisting in the month end close; processing customer payments; maintaining supporting schedules that provide detail of the account balances shown on the general ledger; ensuring compliance with internal controls to assure a high degree of accuracy in regards to their assigned general ledger accounts; and assisting the team in connection with the Company’s periodic financial statement audits.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will provide daily support to customers and the accounts receivable function. During month end close, they will also conduct a reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts ensuring that account balances are properly stated in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist, under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Manager, will be assigned specific areas of responsibility which may include any of the following (not all inclusive):

• Process customer payments
• Maintain customer payment platforms
• Issue and apply credit memos
• Support customers and inquiries
• Process intercompany transactions
• Bank reconciliations for Disbursement Accounts
• Balance sheet account and other reconciliations
• Monthly journal entries and accruals
• Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
• Assist team during financial statement audits conducted by a public accounting firm
• Special projects as assigned

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (preferably in Accounting) or equivalent work experience of 3+ years direct experience
• Prior accounting experience
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Windows operating environment and MS Office products
• ERP Accounting software
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Ability to work professionally with both internal and external customers

Compensation:

The current range for this role based out of Aliso Viejo, CA is $27.98/hr - $33.66/hr.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

A minimum of two workdays per week are to be conducted at the Aliso Viejo Office (25 Enterprise, Aliso Viejo, CA). The remaining workdays may be conducted from a remote location.
