The Role

 

The Manufacturing Planner is an individual contributor position with subject matter expertise to adapt to changing business requirements and drive continuous improvement. As a senior position in the supply chain organization, the Master Planner will contribute to process and policy enhancements, guide and assist associate planners, and create an atmosphere that promotes development, enjoyment, and pride in work.

 

This individual is responsible for developing production plans that satisfy customer demand and service-level KPIs while carrying minimum effective inventory. The Master Planner ensures ERP planning parameters are properly maintained and controlled to meet network-wide inventory policies and generate accurate MRP output for buying and scheduling use. The Master Planner leads the monthly S&OP Supply Review in their area of responsibility.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Supply Planning Deliverables

  • The rolling 12-month Manufacturing Production Schedule (MPS) for intermediate and finished goods.
  • Production orders released to Manufacturing on time.
  • Weekly supply/demand analysis, highlighting potential stock outs and actions for mitigation.
  • Capacity plan for rolling 6-month period with actions to load-level the facility.
  • Alternative Supply Plans to (1) mitigate raw material supply disruptions and (2) meet changing customer demand.
  • Inventory optimized across the network meeting the desired inventory turn and service levels.
  • Significant stock out risks promptly communicated to the Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) supply reviews for performance against KPI’s, performance against schedule, inventory strategy and forecast, supply continuity and disruptions, and resolution of issues.
  • Collaboration with other value-chain team members to improve the cross-functional process flow and attainment of business KPIs.
  • MRP planning parameters are maintained for all assigned products and components in the bills of materials to create reliable purchasing and production plans.
  • Collaboration with Marketing and Product Development teams to facilitate product introductions, exits, and reformulations.
  • A primary point of contact for the Commercial and Supply Chain teams.

  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn new things

Basic Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with in-depth knowledge of ERP systems (especially Advanced Planning Systems), Manufacturing Scheduling, Production Planning, and Capacity Planning.
  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certification strongly preferred; SCOR endorsement desirable
  • Proficiency in setting and maintaining MRP planning parameters
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations ERP system or equivalent
  • Proficiency in essential computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Practical experience with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Experience in developing/managing KPIs and reports for production operations desirable

 

Compensation:

The current range for this role based out of Gig Harbor, WA is $75,000/yr - $100,000/yr.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

 

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

A minimum of three workdays per week are to be conducted at the Gig Harbor office (9627 44th Ave, Gig Harbor, WA 98332). The remaining workdays may be conducted from a remote location.
