Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Metagenics is seeking a Director of Distribution to join our team!

 

In this role, you will initially lead five Distribution Centers in North America with responsibility for on-time fulfillment, receiving and delivery of our nutritional products to customers around the world.  You will play an integral role in developing and leading an innovative, cost-effective, and scalable Distribution Network strategy to meet the growing and changing needs of our customers and the business. We have an aggressive growth strategy and are looking for a progressive and innovative individual with in-depth experience leading domestic and international distribution networks.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead product fulfillment and distribution of nutritional products across a network of 5 warehouses in North America and the shipment of roughly 4500 light parcel and LTL orders/day to domestic and international customers.

  • Lead, collaborate, and consult with North America, Australia and European Distribution business and supply chain partners on long term strategies to maximize service and reduce costs.

  • Lead cross functional teams with Domestic and global continuous improvement projects focused on Automation, inbound and outbound freight, material flow, systems, processes, order fulfillment, on time delivery and safety.
  • Act as Global Distribution Expert/Consultant to support business strategy that aligns with business growth and shifts in customer demand.

  • Develop future leaders and establishing KPI’s that will improve productivity, cost, service, and inventory control across the network.

  • Manage strategic relationships with domestic and international service and freight providers to support business requirements.

  • Play an integral part in developing the long-term strategy for the design, optimization, and utilization of our Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across the globe.

  • As a part of the North America Supply Chain Senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing against the Distribution Annual Operating Plan and play an integral role in long term strategic planning. 

  • Manage a $20M+ distribution budget and approaching each day with a spirit of continuous improvement.

  • Create a motivational and supportive environment where employees are challenged, engaged, coached, trained, and provided clear paths for career growth.

  • Coordinate all activities concerned with inventory maintenance and order fulfillment to ensure accurate, timely and cost-effective shipment of products.

  • Identify and recommend capital expense requirements to meet planned growth with a relentless focus on automation and simplifying our distribution processes.

What you'll need:

  • BS degree preferred
  • 10+ years of demonstrated Executive leadership experience in high volume Global distribution, Logistics and Supply Chain environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with light parcel, LTL, International distribution, ocean/air freight and 3PL operations
  • Proficiency in essential computer programs including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, ERP and WMS (warehouse management systems)
  • Microsoft D365 experience preferred

Knowledge of:

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • cGMP’s
  • ERP business systems – D365 Preferred
  • Distribution Automation – Pick to Voice, Pick to Light, Rate Shop Software, ERP System based Automation
