Position Summary:

You love Design. You think in visual languages and design patterns. You love mobile and strive to create interfaces to rival your favorite mobile apps. You understand how users think and design patterns as second nature that motivate people to complete tasks. As a representative of the Global Ecommerce team, Product Design is accountable to both tactical projects and the long-term strategy of Metagenics by way of iterative product design.

Responsibilities:

• Conceives and executes visual solutions consistent with the agreed strategy
• Take a lead role in designing user flows and prototypes, offering expertise from the outset

• Craft compelling stories that carry the experience strategy vision through an iterative design process
• Produce interface design adhering to the best practices in UX design and color theory
• Tell visual stories
• Understand, receive and apply process direction
• Work within existing design frameworks and creating original visual conceptions, for typographical and visual treatments
• Comfortable documenting work for hand-offs to Product Management & Engineering
• Stay abreast of developments in web-site technologies and techniques
• Keeps supervisor apprised of the status of work
• Other projects and tasks as assigned

What you'll need:

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Digital Designer
• Previous experience Designing for e-commerce, financial services or insurance
• Experience with OTC or Comsumer Packaged Goods is a plus
• Talent, judgment and imagination for creation and arrangement of visual and interface design
• Mobile first design approach
• Experience creating websites, apps, Emails, and other digital expressions like social media
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Team player
• Strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented
• Website designs for a CMS or object orientated scalable website
• Working with art & copy are 2^nd nature
• Knowledge of cross-browser/cross device issues and solutions
• Must be able to apply best practice working methodologies and processes
• Must be familiar with standard software-development lifecycles and project-management methodologies (such as Agile)
• Great attention to detail and QA testing are paramount

Software & Technical skills:

• Knowledge and experience with ADA Accessibility Standards
• Figma, XD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Jira, Slack, Microsoft Word, Basic illustration skills a plus
• Comfort with creating Prototypes in Figma
• Understanding of HTML5 and other code basics
• Optimization techniques

Physical requirements/working conditions:

• This position will have some travel (5-10%) to the corporate office in Aliso Viejo, CA
• Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
• Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
• Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
• Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments

Mental and reasoning requirements:

• Uses critical thinking skills to work with documents and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Able to review complex documents like contracts and leases. Able to review quantitative and qualitative work and identify questionable items
• Expert problem-solving and data-analysis skills
• Able to set goals based on available information and to plan work in order to meet deadlines
• Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for data, services and information from internal or external customers with a wide range of personalities and demeanors
• Able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historical data
• Able to work independently and react quickly to changing priorities with a consistent sense of urgency
