    Responsibilities

    Position Overview: 

    The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain and increase revenue for an assigned territory for a temporary duration through in-person sales calls and interactions with practitioner accounts.  These assignments will most typically arise from short-term vacancy of North America territories’ primary sales representatives.  This interim assignment is projected to last around four weeks and will include responsibility for maintaining or growing assigned business accounts.  The IOAR will contact practitioners and their associated staff at clinics and private offices.  The primary method of contact will occur via live sales calls, and telephone support may be incorporated as appropriate during the assignment period.  Field work is expected to occupy four work days per week, with one business day each week dedicated to work in the Aliso Viejo headquarters office. 

     

     

    What you'll do:   

    • Partner with practitioners to recommend and dispense Metagenics Core and Focus products and services through effective sales skills
    • Ensure that communication is maintained between Metagenics and key practitioner accounts during territory vacancy
    • Complete 7-10 sales calls per day
    • Successfully assess clients’ needs and present suitable products or services with specific emphasis on Core and Focus Metagenics products
    • Provide product information and resources to grow customer’s nutritional practice
    • Attend conference calls and training sessions as directed by Metagenics Training Department or the District Sales Manager
    • Build positive relationships with customers by providing an excellent customer experience for an interim period of time
    • Report competitive activities within assigned practices through MetaForce as well as through frequent calls with the District Sales Manager ( DSM)
    • Pursue continuous learning and professional development and stay up-to-date with industry
    • Meet or exceed daily, weekly call quotas for accounts by making field visits to customers
    • Follow up on basic requests or questions from accounts in a timely manner and forward more complex requests and questions to the District Sales Manager
    • Maintain accurate records in MetaForce for sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities
    • Solicit outside assistance as needed for account education, such as sessions with the Medical Education team
    • Demonstrate consistent progress in increasing technical knowledge regarding Metagenics products
    • Develop relationships and increase sales revenue by expanding the accounts’ knowledge of Metagenics product offerings
    • Ensure that information provided to the internal and external customers is complete, accurate and timely
    • Present a clean, neat and professional appearance to in-person accounts (business attire)
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business code of ethics

    What you'll need: 

     

     

    Experience / Training / Education

     

    • Bachelor's degree highly preferred and Bachelor’s Degree in science, nutrition, or a related field is preferred
    • Minimum 2 years Inside Sales experience or experience with Metagenics products is preferred 
    • Some exposure to outside sales strategies and processes highly beneficial
    • Must have a valid US state issued driver’s license
    • Must have reliable transportation in order to manage the assigned territory
    • Must be able to travel overnight for 3-4 nights at a time
    • Must maintain automobile insurance for personal vehicle used for sales call activities

     

    Skills/Abilities

     

    • Strong communication and sales skills

    • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales in preferred
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability and willingness to learn products and industry-specific knowledge
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience in using CRM software to maintain customer contact records and to collect and analyze information (or willingness and aptitude to learn quickly)
    • Skilled at performing research on the internet to piece together information regarding accounts
    • Exemplifies high levels of internal and external customer engagement
    • Demonstrates a positive, solution-oriented outlook when faced with obstacles
    • Ability to travel by car and/or plane up to 80% of the time, for the duration of the assignment
    • Overnight travel will be required frequently depending on the location of the assignment

     

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

    • Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than three consecutive hours
    • Must be able to drive for long distances to make multiple sales calls on a daily basis
    • Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
    • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
    • May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
    • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
    • Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
    • Lifts up to 10-20 pounds regularly; lifts up to 50 pounds occasionally
    • Ability to get in and out of a car many times in a day in various types of weather / environments
    • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments

     

    Mental and reasoning requirements:

    • Ability to understand sales goals for Core and Focus products and formulate individual account presentations and plans to meet sales goals
    • Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for data, services and information from internal or external customers with a wide range of personalities and demeanors
    • Able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historical data
    • Able to work independently and react quickly to changing priorities with a consistent sense of urgency
